I've have a handful of suits accumulated over the years for work and have taken more interest in looking sharp these days. I recently noticed that none of my dress shirts hang 3/8 to 1/2" beyond my suit sleeve. I wear a 38R suit and 16 32/33 shirt. I noticed my shirts don't seem to hang as long with my suit on and it sits about 1/2" inside my suit before it's visible. I'm wondering if it would be better to buy a longer shirt or get my suits altered a bit shorter? Any thoughts?

Based on your pics, I'd say the 32/33 sleeve is too short on you.

agreed.

The shirt may feel baggy/long simply because you're not used to it. Your pics look like the longer shirt is in fact a better fit.

That's about where I like my shirt cuff to end.

I've noticed the armhole of the jacket can pull the sleeve up on full shirts. If that's the case, I'd get new shirts that fit better around the armpit. Otherwise, hard to tell from the angle but jacket sleeves might need to go up. But 1/2" seems like a lot of cuff though..

I guess the solution to your problem is to alter your suits to make the sleeve on your suits to be a little shorter.
