I've been looking to purchase a Malvern in black on the 82 and/or a Walcot in black on the 888 and it seems the prices have skyrocketed since last year this time. I ordered my chestnut antique Malverns and the price was "£498.00 tax-free excluding shoetrees (£51.00 tax-free) and shipping (from £30.00)".

Now they are:

Tax Free Malvern and Walcot £610
Tax Free shoe trees £60
Total Tax Free price £670 with free UPS shipping

Seems they are also using UPS for shipping which they say is free but means another hundred in import duties.

Looks like I'm almost priced out and have to relegate my EG buying to their sales which in my size should be slim pickings. Any similar experiences?

I'm with you when it comes to paying full retail on EG. You can get MTO Vass for a lot less than that.

But at the same time, we've never seen such a flow of EGs hitting B&S at discounted prices...

I hear you, but I expect that to end very soon. I was fortunate to score the gdl's on B&S in size 12.5/13D and have them work out for me [ironically] since the MacKays in the same size didn't really. But outside of that, how many 12/12.5Es do you think will make their way to B&S.

Today is a sad day.

I think I will buy a couple more pairs from them and then call it quits.

I agree, but most of the EGs on the B&S have been pretty ugly models or black shoes. There have been a few decent models, but not many. I hate the Frome, and the Elmsley isn't the most elegant. BTW: Can't you get EG shoe trees from the RL Mansion for half of the price EG quoted you?

Agreed. One of the decent models. I just sent two pair of EGs in for work (HAF soles and metal toe taps), so it's like I am getting 2 new pair without the bill of buying 2 pair. I check the tracking number every 2-3 hours. They haven't even hit the states yet, but I get anxious.

I don't know, here in New York the prices haven't changed in a few years from what I noticed.

I should have picked up the Elmsley from Browns when I had the chance. There were a few pairs that were good looking on B&S, just not my size.
