...anyone against me doing this? (I can get them 20% off at Active Endeavors, but where do I type in the coupon code?)

You enter the coupon near the end of the transaction after you type in your addess, payment form, etc.

Yes, I bought a pair and they suck. One of the buttons already popped off (and since others have experienced the same thing, it seems like shoddy quality and not just a problem with my specific jeans), the stitching looks very poor (especially the hems, it looks like someone didn't load the bobbin correctly on their sewing machine), and the denim is kinda mediocre, at least compared to APC which cost about the same sans discount.

^^ yeah it happened to me as well, but a contacted crate and they fixed the problem without any hassle. i wouldn't say the jeans are good quality, but i really like the fit so i have no complaints

I like the ease of purchasing something from Active Endeavor and the discount, but I wasn't too happy with the way these jeans fit. Perhaps it's just my body type, but I found them to be too tight in the crotch, too lose in the seat, and not wide enough on the bottom. Hopefully they work for you...

I tried them on @ Barney's CoOp (I like knowing how clothes fit FOR SURE before buying). I liked the low rise on them. I tried a 31 on, which was tight, and seeing as they will shrink I sized up to a 32 and bought em from AA today. Can't wait to get them.

I've had the James IVs for almost a month now. Haven't had any quality issues thus far. I think the cut is flattering and the denim's not so bad either. Took a few pictures for your reference.

Keep in mind, these are with less than a month of wear.

Those look nice, I have a pair of sally's that I'm quite fond of.

i've been on the fence on a pair of these as well, tried them on and really liked the fit but i'm not too impressed by their construction (e.g. no hardware and the unfolded edge beltloops). I tried contacting them as well to see what they have coming for F/W but got no reply.

So if I like the fit of these, what are good alternatives?

I'm happy with my pair of James IV. I've had them for about 2 months and have had no quality issues - except for the white thread on the belt loops that seem to be coming out but I may ask my tailor to resew them. They're getting a little fuzzy though

I have had a pair of JamesIV for about 3months now and they are ok. I don't wear them all that much as they have streched and are a little big and the leg opening is a little wide for my liking. Had no problem with quality though, but wouldn't say they are as nearly as good quality as my APC jeans, which were around the same price.
