During my tour of Naples Salvatore led me to EG Cappelli - we were greeted by Patrizio and after a short tour of the operation (it consists of three to four small rooms filled with ready made ties and stacks of silks) I got straight to work choosing silks. I settled on six; 3 madders, 1 jacquard, 1 grenadine, and 1 printed. All 8 cm wide. If I wasn't so hungry I would have probably picked 6 more. I felt that the fabric choices were first rate with some extremely unique available that you wouldn't find at a place like Marinella. Well worth the visit if your in the area.

Another reason to come to New York - you can meet Mina and see all of Cappelli's fabrics for the season, and have a handmade tie delivered in three weeks.

Samples - larger than life

Strips of colored silk, whatever.

Look at that guy's suit. He doesn't even have shoulders!

Geez.

Which option do you usually go for when you meet with Mina? I met her 3 weeks ago for a tie and went with the 7 fold option for 140 euros. Im thinking now I should have went for a higher one =(

This is the true Soporific Tie Appreciation thread. Gorgeous stuff. Looks like combination of Marinella-esque fabric and Rubinacci-esque construction--can't get any better than that.

Speaking of Marinella, did you drop by?

Quite colourful. Italians only ever seem to wear blue ties.

Very fun post, whnay.

Hope you had a chance to pop over to Capri or the Amalfi while you were down there (two of my personal favorites).
