My 2 pick ups came in today. Kind of torn on the Matsudas. Love the JMMs.
Although I love Matsudas designs and craftmanship, those ones are quite difficult to wear (and round glasses are not my style). I might get a pair for next spring.

I’ve come to the same conclusion about LS and their selling policy. The few comments on here by those who have got a pair have seemed very complimentary. I may have to follow your lead and just get a pair from the site. I believe they have a no BS return policy. Looking forward to your update.
I paid around 200€ for import duties, clearance, handling and all that shi* (customs in EU are now stopping all imported goods and Shipito does not do the trick anymore). I believe that amount is a total lost should I decide to return them, so I better keep them. I must admit I went crazy with this purchase due to their selling policy.
At least we have some great EU made sunglasses; Vuarnet Cup 1521 large with blue polarlynx lenses (perfect for seawater activities this summer) just arrived.

Lenses are top notch, much better that those of a pair of Oakley I have.

Good looking shades! I love. Vuarnet - I have Vuarnet Ice which I also use when our neighbours invite us out on their boat.
And Vuarnet Edge which will be seen on Daniel Craig in the next Bond film if it ever comes out this side of the next millennium!!

Thanks. Oakley Vs Vuarnet. Vuarnet lenses are much better (filters/clarity/contrast). My Oakleys frames are more than 20 years old and I had to change the scrached lenses 6 month ago. Although brand new ones they do not offer the same qualities. They are originals but I do not know their specifications. 20210715_175017.jpg 20210715_175635.jpg
Sorry for the terrible pics.

Any thoughts on white acetate? There are Persol 649s in white right now (APC collab). I personally like them as a fun pair, my fiancé said any of the looks I had are fine but would be way better with black or tortoiseshell. Wonder if I’ll regret not playing it safe.

Check the JMM thread. @Jaymig926 is displaying some new acetate aviator shaped shades in white. See if you like ‘em!

Did not have time to take pics of the LS ones.

Ok, here you go. A pic with my silver mirror Matsuda's (they run a bit small for my liking),

...and the LS Oceanic (watch out, they run wide). I must say they are really distinctive and elegant.

Bonus pic of my aviators; Dita Midnight Special, Matsuda 3072 and JMM Jagger (my faves).

It seems this thread is dead, even in summer time.
Ic! Berlin. Love their light metal frames. Model I See.

It's not dead. I really like my Ray-Ban 8029, my L0205 and my new Randolph Concorde.

Does anyone own the Salt x Aether Scout Aviator collaboration? I've been on the hunt for a few years and have yet to be able to track them down.

Been trying to find an active sunglasses discussion here for awhile.

I’ve never been into sunglasses, mainly because I refuse to wear contacts and when I do buy a pair of prescriptions, they go out of style quickly. So this was a big commitment for me and I couldn’t be happier.

Randolph Engineering Pilot Aviators. 52mm Green AGX lenses on 23K Gold Frames. This is a quintessential Navy Aviator scheme. A timeless classic that will age gracefully and develop some solid patina along the way.

Made in Massachusetts, USA. They’re a small family owned and operated business. They still have contracts with our military to produce sunglasses; been that way for nearly 40 years.

I'm looking for sunglasses with clear, orange or light blue colored lenses for casual wear.
Do you recommend any brands?

Buy the frames you like and which suit you.
Lenses are an easy replacement and may run $50 to $150 depending on what features you want (polarised, mirror flash, anti reflective coating etc)
A fe of us have used Zoomer in California. You can ship your glasses there and they’ll be returned within a week and just PayPal your fee.
