Hi to all the members . I wanted to share with you some photos of my recentky received sunglasses by Leisure Society. It is the model Eden Rock in Antique Silver . It is easy the best sunglasses i have ever worn . The quality of the frame and the lenses are incredible and you have to hadle the sunglasses in person to understand that. I would like to thanks all the members of the forum for all the informations they are providing and especially Tsujigiri.

The problem with the JMMs is that they tend to accumulate (I now have four)

That is so true. Before discovering JMM, I had a relatively diverse selection of sunglasses with no particular emphasis on any individual brand. When I purchased my first JMM, I sincerely believed it would be my one and only representative of the brand. Boy was I wrong.

I've always been a big fan of aviators. In my opinion, the best metal frames are made by Leisure Society. And if you like small-sized aviators, Clairaut is a great choice.

They are just a little bit better than their stainless steel frames. At first they started to sell them as a separate brand ONONO, but it seems that the idea didn't work and now it is just Ic Berlin Titanium. They are just a little bit lighter and have a clip in the hinge that is printed from some plastic that makes the hinge move smoother.
Actually, I think the Ic Berlin 's hinge is the best in the industry. It is very durable, you can disassemble the frame without any tools and you don't need to tighten the screws, like in normal glasses. Mykita's and Lindberg's screwless hinges are inferior, in my opinion.
Unfortunately, the guys at Ic Berlin seems not to care about the lens quality. From this point of view their sunglasses are not so great. And the design of most of their frames is quite unimaginative, to be honest.

Mykita unfortunately doesn't make titanium frames. They are probably trying to safe a few dollars in the production costs.

Holy ****, I feel like I've found my alter ego. Completely agree about Leisure Society making the best metal frames out there.

I'm on the fence about the IC! Berlin titanium vs stainless frames. The hinge is smoother because the nylon insert is slicker, but the weight savings isn't that dramatic, and stainless steel is probably more durable in the long run. I have noticed, though, that the pads on my Ononos are a lot softer and grippier than the stock IC! Berlin ones. Also the matte finish is finer on the stainless frames than the titanium ones. I don't know if they did the same for the new IC! Berlin titanium frames as I haven't handled them. And that's a tradeoff, too, since the harder material wears better. Mykita also has the softer pads.

I do like the IC! Berlin hinge better overall since you can disassemble it yourself for cleaning and if it gets bent you can adjust it easily (Mykitas have to be taken in if the hinge gets loose). One advantage that the Mykita hinge has, though, is that the glasses won't pop out so easily if you clip them in your shirt. And Mykita's designer collaborations have been a huge draw for me as well. I'd say that Mykita is better suited for a collection if you want some statement pieces, but if you can only have one and want to wear it all the time I'd go with IC! Berlin. As you pointed out, the lenses don't have the high spec bronze AR that the Mykitas do, but the IC! lenses aren't bad. I believe they use nylon and at least some of their lenses are Zeiss according to them. Definitely better quality optics than polycarbonate, but not quite up there with some of the standouts like Leisure Society, Salt, and Mykita.

Just saw this, those are a beauty! Wear them in good health. They do feel really different from anything else I've tried (Oxford Vaughan is close, though).

What are people's favorite aviators (or navigators if you really want a square version)?

3 of my current favorites. The first one's the PQ Ealing Broadway; the A-shaped part has notches that allow you to make some minor adjustments to the size of the frame. It's kind of gimmicky but I like the look of it. The second one is the Mykita Rolf; a hugely popular model that I thought they'd never discontinue, but they did. I was lucky enough to find one of the 100 limited platinum plated versions they released for their 5th anniversary. And the last one is the Leisure Society Highgate, easily the highest quality aviator I have. This one came with a tortoise windsor rim around the lenses that adds some character, I think.
