Thoughts?

I felt Angelli looked good in miniature, but when the image is viewed full size the tie seems off. Also, what is going on with the reverse button stance on the left? And aren't patch pockets more of an American trad thing?

Where are you seeing patch pockets?

I've never been a big fan of the 4 x 1 DB-jacket look, but its often been said that a big part of Agnelli's "genius" was the fact that he took an otherwise very traditional look and tweaked one part of it in an unexpected way...examples include wearing OCBDs with a suit; watch on the outside of his shirt, etc.

Either a) it's too early to post or b) just making sure you were paying attention.

Tie was to narrow for the lapel width, but the colors look fine.

They're besom pockets, not patch- SOP for a DB suit.

Agnelli was a man who had the time and resources to be creative with fashion. Although he did dress well often, there would be that odd occasion where he would push the limits a bit too far:

Here he is with a knotted tie so that the under-blade was long enough to slip through the loop under the top blade and tuck into the belt line ...

And here he is with his watch over his cuffs ... he did this quite often actually:

Are you sure this is pushing the limits? Maybe he just got the length wrong and was in a hurry. I have done this before.

Here's the Duke of Windsor trying a similar sort of thing back in the day:

I was just trying to find that pic, I remember seeing that in one of the Flusser books. I don't really see the problem doing that; for a short person unless your ties are all bespoke it's either that or tucking it inside your shirt...

The length of ties has fluctuated over the last century or so. You only need to watch movies from the 40s and 50s to see quite short ties, as the Duke of Windsor is wearing there.

In any event, it is out of proportion IMO.

I've read that the watch over the shirt thing was because his skin had an allergic reaction to the watch metal.
