Dear all,

I have written an article about the full process of a bespoke shirt made from the most reputable shirtmaker in Spain.

I think it can be helpful to know a little bit more about our sartotialist work. I believe there is good sartorialist skills in other countries apart form that coming from the UK and EEUU.

I hope you enjoy it and make comments in the "comentarios" window.
My best regards

Beautifil looking stuff. Maybe Madrid is the next iGent frontier. Pre-buzz. Naples is past the saturation point (I say as I stroll about today in a Neapolitan suit and tie).

Since you are up on both, Madrid is now buzz bordering on saturation and Naples is in backlash, sorry.

Nicely done, thank you. Burgos has a very good rep- I remember them mentioned when I was in Madrid in the 90's.

Since I am actually a client of Burgos I can say Carmen is lovely and the whole staff is wonderful to deal with. They will be making me several shirts from Simonnot Godard chambray, maybe there can be an exchange of hostages when I get them, Felix?

Thank you to all for your comments. I would appreciate if you could make them also in my blog. Many of the readers are fluent in English and they are also familiar with the topic.

I believe in Spain still few tailors as well as few shirt-markers that can do a job as good as the one done by the British, Italian or American reputable ones. Two months ago I published an article with the President of the Spanish Tailor Club and he mentioned this reality. He pointed out that in Spain our tailors work in house and at least 90% of their work is done by hand. He knows some reputable SR tailors that cannot say that. And our tailors (and the very good ones) charge much less than those.

If I have not convinced you about coming over to Spain I can say to Manton that in Spain there are more three stars Michelin restaurants than anywhere else.

I got shirts from Burgos. The fit is excellent. The handwork is very fine. What I like most is the cut of the buttom of the shirt. The styling is the most elegant that I have ever seen:

I am not completly satisfied with the collar. But I guess it can be improved. The other problem is more severe: The stitches arund shoulder-sleeves tend to losen. The dark side of handsewn shirts ...
