This Sunday I will be attending a somewhat formal event, and my ideas for what to wear are:

A Karl Largerfeld Jacket, with a cordroy top of lapel, and a single button, single vent, very silm cut.
With slim-fit Reiss black wool trouseres
and a Reiss shirt, thin black stripe body on a white background, with a plain white placket and collar. a small collar, and a slim fit.
with a slim white tie, with a black vertical bias stripes
with black canvas Gucci silver horse-bit loafers.
a Gucci belt in siver metal with black leather.
And a Cannel J12 black ceramic with bagutte diamonds set on the bezel.

    or.

    A Gucci black suede Jacket
    with Gucci flared trousers black.
and a black Donna Karan Signature 100% Casmere roll-neck sweater.
with black leather Gucci rose-gold horse-bit loafers.
a Cartier belt in rose-gold metal with black leather.
and a Patek Phillipe in rose gold Calatrava.

    or.

The first one, but with a black tie or with a Van Laack tux shirt and bow tie.

    or.

A Pal Zilleri Tux with silk lapel, and silk stripe down trouser.
with Van Laack tux shirt and bow tie.
and Gucci Croc shoes. plain black.
    And a YG Rolex Day-Date.

I will post pics if I get the time.

Also possible are some black leather high shine lace-up Cheaneys, to wear with any of the above.

Fellas, I only point out that if any of you were wondering what the hell I was talking about when I mentioned a "link front" a while back, here you go: that jacket has a link front.

Trust me, you don't want to know. Lest you feel insulted, please know that I am a crusty, crochety, hidebound, rigid, formal, moralistic, crabby, judgemental man. When it comes to clothes.

I get the feeling you would lean towards the final option, of the Pal Z tuxedo

I personally like the combination in the pics, but as you have probably surmised, I am sort of like Batman to Manton's Superman in the Dark Knight series.

    Anything you would change?

Do you think a black tie would be better?

LAGuy is not being fair. He knows that I am not a corrupt tool of a corrupt government. If I must be compared to a character in that series, I am Commissioner Gordon.

No.  Keep the light colored tie.  Let's the front closure stand out the way a dark tie wouldn't.  Also, a dark tie would be a little too Reservoir Dogs.  I'd skip the loafers and go with slim Chelsea boots though.

That sounds like a good idea with the tie.

I do not have any boots, unfortunately.

From the following, which would you choose?

Gucci GG Canvas Loafers in GG print (black on black) with nickel horse-bit
Gucci black leather loafers with silver metal slim horse-bit in a bright silver.
Cheney black high shine leather round toe lace ups
Salvatore Ferragamo Studio black pointed toe leather lace ups
Fratelli Rossetti black leather pointed toe lace ups.

What about the watch, would you go for the Chanel or a Rolex Submariner?

Ferragamos. I usually don't like pointed shoes, but they seem to fit here. Get yourself a pair of good chisel toes in the future.

    Chanel watch.
