Ok, finally wanting to start wearing tie clips, but am finding it slim pickings when trying to find some in b&m stores... not wanting to buy Kenneth Cole ones or other department store kind.

Was about to pull the trigger at thetiebar.com.... but backing out of that.

Can anyone suggest a simple tie bar, one for everyday use that is simple, and silver? Also trying to keep the price point around $50-$75.

Also, my tie collection mostly consists of slim (not skinny) to about 2 3/4 inch ties. Definitely nothing over 3 inches.

Never heard of Howard Yount, but so far I think I am leaning more towards that tie bar. In fact, even liking the hammered finish as well!

Great.... another fashionable website I can surf and spend money at.... hahaha.

Thank you Saenek.

J. Crew, the one with the slim lengthwise grooves. I love mine, picked it up on vacation in Chicago. About $50

I got mine from Howard Yount recently and I'm very pleased with it. I searched for a while and settled on the HY.

I often see interesting ones at flea markets. The price is certainly right, and you can find stuff that will be pretty unique.

However, I have thus far refrained from buying the ones that are supposed to look like a sword stabbed through your tie. But only because they seem to have been made for 4" ties and nothing less.

I quite like the sword tie bars.
However, like you said they won't work for any tie <3.5" in width.

I have one from Tiffany, which is only slightly more than that ($85).

Target has a completely unadorned silver-colored metal tie bar for about $10. I own one, and it's nice.

J.Crew has an unadorned sterling silver one that I also own.

I believe Howard Yount has one too.

Did you get this from Target online? Reason I ask is because I have never seen one for sale in the b&m stores, and I visit there quite often for their socks and occasional tie. For $10 bucks, would be willing to give it a shot.

I've found that Amazon is also a good place to look for plain tie bars.

I ended up getting a Tiffany one for myself awhile ago.
