What is the blade width on the Hober ties? Is it actually 3.75" (9.5cm)? And if so, can it be customized? I've scoured the website, but it seems that everything except width is MTO. I'd prefer to go a bit thinner 8.5cm to 9cm

Literally everything is customizable with Hober (at the risk of painting them into a corner).....all their ties are made to specifications.

I've had mine made at 8.25cm and 8.9cm. I started with the later and then decided to go thinner with my more recent purchases. I specify length and width, number of folds, and tipping. I also specify what knot I will use b/c I think it affects the lining they use. I'm sure there are other things you can specify, but that's what I've done.

3.75 is the width on the premade ties they sell on their other site, if I recall correctly.
For regular SH ties, you have to specify, each time, your width and length (and your preferred knot, as this affects the width of the tie at the knot point). Lots of folks here have done 8.5cm, including me. I have done 8.5, 9.0 and 8.75 (my current width pick).

The site that has more standardized sizes is Benjamin Hober. From what I have read, David stresses that the ties are not actually premade, and they are constructed the same as those ordered through the Sam Hober site (made after you order). The fabric selection from what I can tell is identical. You can still select max width and length, and whether you want the extra folds, hand rolled edges, etc. But, you cannot make any other customization like you can on the main site.

Another inaugural outing. Split toe Tuesday in Brassvello style; my first Plaza boot.

I can definitely see the draw for the Ravello versatility!

Seems to be a SF favorite tie.

Wow! the fabric, which has a wonderful dry but smooth feel, is thick! It wants to make a fat knot Have to muscle it a bit to tighten it up.
I think a sky blue w white stripe mogador tie would be sweet

Back in the USA for the summer. Taxes and duty are just too much to order Hobers in Europe. Happy with the Italian I order ties from in Europe but it’s nice to get some meticulous quality and wider range of fabrics while I’m here! 150 cm x 9cm untipp-ed grenadine fina
