Thank you! What color is the body of the tie? Gold stripe looks nice.

Unique shirt as well with a button pocket! :)

Thanks! It's a medium brown. Hober calls it "chocolate". I am guessing they mean the milk variety.

On Sunday I took delivery of the last of a set of five Thai silk stripe neckties from Sam Hober. I seem to have exhausted their stock of the blue and black strip silk.

I had ordered them because I received information suggesting that I would return to my office sometime in May. As it happened, that proved to be an instance of the poor internal communication characteristic of my employer. Nevertheless, I'm sure that I will return eventually and I'll have some pretty handsome new nectkies to debut when I do. (My own guess is that it will be some time between July 1st and September 30th, but I'm very bad at predictions)

As usual, their communication and service were both exemplary.

All of them are in six-fold construction. There's considerable variance in thickness among the silks; that of the red and grey as well as salmon and green neckties respectively at the extreme left and right in the picture is considerably thicker and heavier than that of the three in the middle. I like these quite a lot; the salmon and green one is specially interesting.

I have a soft spot for a burgundy dot tie. When I got my first real job, clerking with a law firm while still a poor law student, my mother bought me my first adult suit. Gray wool flannel, white shirt and a burgundy dot tie. 45 years ago. I've always had one, since. Even now. (not the same one, LOL!) Still also have a gray flannel suit, too. Some pieces are above or beyond fashion.

It's a timeless classic! It was my first Hober tie!

That's a great story and a cool one to boot, thanks for sharing. :)
