New @Sam Hober tie for a downright gorgeous dimple. My first and it won't be my last!

ADD: Can one tweak the size of the knot with changes to the tie's dimensions? This is a VERY thick tie with a four in hand knot (smallest knot?) and it makes a large (but beautiful) knot. I was shocked at how large the knot is.

My experience with David, is that you can adjust the width of the tie at the point where it knots (I think he calls it a taper) to make a smaller knot, you can also adjust the interlining to make the tie less beefy, both adjustments will result in a smaller knot.

If that is your first Hober and it’s the fabric I mentioned, your larger knot is typical with that fabric. That was my first Hober and I too questioned the knot size upon arrival. I would move forward without making any modifications on your next order. Also try wearing it with a non-button down, that will help.

It is indeed! EPDT 6 is the pattern from my order details.

Great, thanks for the details. Good to keep in mind. I went with his suggested 3.75'' blade width to go along with my height (tall). I am extremely happy I trusted his judgement. My other ties seem tiny in comparison.

I don't believe there is anything David cannot do.... Except maybe cook my breakfast!

It is my first Hober. It's an extremely thick fabric.

I suspect David's use of nice, wool interlinings adds to the size but if I remember correctly he had a note on the website describing (noting) that this was a particularly thick fabric. I won't change anything, then. We spoke at length via email to nail down length and width. I think he got it spot on the first time.

All my shirts are button down collars, while some of the newer ones have custom length (longer) collars which I think will look better with a nice beefy knot (four in hand) if the fabric necessitates that.

Any skinny tie lovers? @MAYC is selling some staple ties at 2.75” and 3” for only $45 each. Highlighting a few here but be sure to check out his entire collection.

61 inches and 2 3/4 inch width. That’s unusual.

Great looking tie!

I have been after some Macclesfield ties myself... I have to spend some time on David's site and looking at my closet to determine what my next order of ties will be.

Thank you!! See below. It's an awesome fabric; extremely impressed.

@SJR3 Thanks for tagging that!
