There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

You need to listen to the inner-atoms. [IMG]

Thanks M. Charles. All the ties are 3 3/8 inches wide (just 'cause I can!). The Macclesfield #102 is one of my favorities as well.

Really hoping my order of three Hober ties shows up today! I'm already anxious to place another order and I haven't even handled a Hober tie yet. This thread has me convinced I won't be disappointed, though. Still, I'd like to make sure I'm happy with the measurements and construction options before I finalize my next selections.

Funny, this is basically the exact same situation I am in. I ordered my first set of ties from David a couple of weeks ago, and they should be arriving soon. I'm just trying to hold back on buying anything else until the first order comes in!

Haha. My order shipped March 8 via registered airmail. David says to allow three weeks for delivery, but from what I've gathered reading this thread, it's usually only about two weeks. Keeping my fingers crossed!

By the way Matt, I love that navy tie in your avatar pic. Is it yours? What is that, a six fold? I'm contemplating an unlined six or seven fold as one of my next Hobers. Maybe a solid reppe silk. Would be expensive though, and definitely a one-off thing for me.

Is 193 on a black or midnight blue background, can you tell? I THINK black, but I'm not positive.

Unfortunately not mine [IMG]. It was a pic taken from earlier in this thread of one someone else's 6-fold Hober grenatines. Just thought it looked awesome, lol. Fortunately though, I'll be getting my own dark navy grenadine from Hober soon, although mine will be the standard 4-fold.

These look great. So are these shantung? I know shantung is a rough silk fabric as well, but is there a difference between shantung and these? Definitely some great summer ties, I particularly like the burnt orange and ocean blue.

Is the Thai rough silk available in swatches?

I also noticed on the pricing page an option for an eight fold tie [IMG] Does anyone have one of those monsters? If not- David, can you tell us a little bit about the benefits/downsides of an eight fold tie? I can only imagine what an 8 fold grenadine would look like

Great explanation David. So what types of fabrics would you consider light enough to warrant considering an 8-fold tie?

The new rough silks look beautiful - would love to see how they look in real life.

I have an unlined, untipped, 7-fold piccola and that tie could be an 8-fold. It is fairly light. I have a wedding silk 7-fold with the same construction and it is noticeably heavier than the piccola.
