I would wear all of these ties for business.
I received my order of 4 ties from David and, each in its own way, looks subtle, elegant and classy. The dark red grenadine is toned down well, the burgundy pindot is very understated and classy, the dark sienna has just the right amount of subtlety and the navy pindot is the most conservative of all, just as I had expected. The style of the burgundy pindot shows conservative doesn't have to be boring.
My only problem now is finding occasions to wear them since I don't dress up often
Thanks David for under-promising and over-delivering. Waiting for the forest green grenadine and the burnt orange cashmere.
^ pics? please.
Nice, notfortheweak. Very elegant ties, specially the glen plaid. Do you remember how wide the glen is? I assume it's English Plaid #9?
New arrival - purple passion:
Beautiful choices. Gotta love purple.
Which tie is the purple? Beautiful.
Macclesfield # 114 in 6 fold construction.
Edit: they are both purple, although the Macclesfield appears blue in the photo. The other tie is a Grenadine Fina Dark Puple / Black #35
Would you mind listing which ones those are?
For my next Hober I am thinking a few of these:
Midnight Blue Satin
White on Navy wavy silk
Powder blue on midnight "flower silk"
Obviously I like pretty plain ties and navy seems to suit my complexion the best...
Do you guys think 6 fold is worth it compared to 3? I have both and can't say I strongly prefer 6 over 3. The interlining makes them pretty similar from my experience.
This is why nearly all my ties are lightly lined or unlined. Heavier interlinings adulterate the expression of the construction and the fabric.
Has anyone done a striped grenadine / solid grenadine back blade before?
Sent an email to david H. to ask about pricing.
Wanted to check here...
The fact that Hober is full custom for ties has me salivating.
fitting that this would be my first SF post.
I don't really see the point.
I never use the keeper, so my back blades move around a little. thought it might add something.
Yeah, I don't use my keeper either. I would think that you would just need to have a matching solid color as the base color in the stripe.
