Great. Thanks guys. I placed my order and am super excited. It sounds like the quality of the ties that he produces are top-notch and that there is so much dedication put into them. To bad he does not offer silver/white houndstooth ties.

I asked him about blue/white and light red/white houndstooth ties a long time ago to no avail.

I just got a macclesfield pindot mid-night navy. Would you say the blue is still discernible or is the tie more black?

My tie is very dark. In light you can tell it is in essence dark Navy. I like it because unlike more blue ties, it can be worn easily with a navy suit, but also has the same effect of a black grenadine tie (balances off a busy sportscoat) .

@Captain Waffles can you post a picture? Have been thinking about getting one myself.

Hi, I have a swatch set to share. A selection of lavender and wedding tie silks, I wanted to see what was in stock for my wedding party. Anyways I will likely do a WDT#6.

I am in Canada, will mail with a $5 donation to my Movember campaign https://mobro.co/13596337.

Does anyone know if grenadine fina is better for small knots? It seems like the tighter the weave, the tighter (and smaller) you could pull the knot.

I think it has more to do with the thickness of the lining and the width of the tie.

Also, whatever size of knot you request is the size that you will be able to make out of the tie. If you want a prometeo grenadine with a small knot they'll do it. I bought various grenadine and silk ties and requested an average knot. Each time the knots come out the same size regardless of lining, length or width.

The Hober thread was quiet during the month of March. Reviving it with one of my favorite ties, although I've posted this one before. Midnight blue grenadine grossa with white pin dots:
