@Ennius - thanks for your comments! I think a solid white shirt is a safer choice and would look at least as nice (and probably better) than the stripe I wore.

I am afraid I don't have a lot of details to share on the suit. It is a MTM Oxxford suit. A few months back an Oxxford rep was in town at a local B&M shop here in Atlanta with various pieces of fabric that were at the end of a run and Oxxford would no longer carry. I liked the weight and texture so my wallet became lighter. :embar:

You need to get one of David's grenadine stripes. :nodding:

Oxxford MTM suit? No wonder it looks wonderful.

But how can you manage in a 3 piece suit in Atlanta in August?!

That suit seems designed for wonderful contrasts with dark ties - navy blue, midnight blue, black.....

    :)

WRT August in Atlanta...I work in a fairly large office complex and don't venture outside much during the workday so in a climate controlled environment it works out ok.

Completely agree with your assessment of the suit. :fistbump:

I agree with this. I definitely still like the look, but a white shirt would probably be more optimal. Fun to switch it up from time to time, though.

I found out a bit ago that David won't be re-stocking any more diamond silk weaves so if anybody wants one of those, you should consider jumping on it soon before it sells out. I missed out on the orange one and I feel a tremendous loss - it was going to be my next purchase. Anyway, he said he's going to replace it with something similar next year.

By the way, I hope he doesn't mind that I'm posting this. If there's a problem, I'll take it down.

The same is true for many of the Macclessfield silks that have recently gone out of stock. I'm a little confused by this decision as there are some great silks that are not being restocked and some less than desirable ones that are sitting unsold, which limits the choices for the next order of ties.

That is a shame. I've gotten more into patterned ties lately and there are definitely more than a few sold out ones that I would love to have in my collection. On the bright side, this is good for my wallet and I'm not sure how many more than 50 or so Hobers I can really justify owning.

David has discussed this before so not too surprising. Diamond weaves definitely don't get the love I think they deserve. Maybe an alternative to not restocking the entire line is to restock a limited number of core colors (navy, burgundy, burnt orange, and a few others). Speaking out of turn here as David knows his business infinitely better than I do. Of course, there could be issues/constraints with the supplier that force his hand.

Not to rub salt in a wound but the burnt orange diamond weave is one of my top 5 Hober ties. Just a tremendous tie. :nodding:

It has been a while since he has had restocks on his Macclesfield prints (although I am not sure if restocks are possible with Macclesfields). That is why I get real motivated when I see 1 left of a pattern that I like.

You can always justify owning more Hobers. :nodding:

A few weeks back David put some jacquard/cashmere patterned ties on his site that are interesting, I have a couple of them on my wish list.

You are allowed to smoke inside the casinos (for the most part).

Love my Burgundy. The navy warp makes that fabric glow. The brighter ones are nice without being too shiny.
