1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Thank-you for the pic! The tie looks great. I love the color--similar to burgundy but more of a purplish/plum color.

The purple/black grossa has even more of a two-color thing going, because of the bigger weave. It really changes color based on light and angle of viewing - it's quite a sight. My second most worn tie after navy grenadine.

Today's Hober is the navy pattern challis wool #2 (6-fold construction) on it's first trip out in the wild.

Thanks pinkpanther, unfortunately the spoilers does not show anything. If anyone can post a pic of the black/white POW is greatly appreciated. I'm trying to figure out the actual shade since I don't have the swatch. The POW webpic seems to be too dark for what I'm looking for. Thanks again

You need to get that credit card back in your wallet (for any number of reasons)! [IMG]

Absolutely. I'm hardly an expert on silk-printing, but in my experience what often happens is that the printing dye ends up "covering" the silk in a way, giving it color but muting it's vibrancy. With the madders from Sam Hober, the dye is really soaked through, so you don't see the dye but rather the silk with it's full lustre. I was surprised when I got my first madder because I can't actually tell what the original color of the silk is and what is printed color, because it's all equally lustrous and "alive" as you say. Amazing stuff.

Today's Hober is a repeat from April, the dark navy with white dots #1 (6-fold construction).

Man, I haven't worn a Hober all week. I may soon have to resign my club membership in disgrace.:(

You should be put on probation and required to wear the unofficial SF Hober club tie no less than once a week for the month of November and purchase four new Hobers by the end of the month. I believe that is a just sentence.

New Hobers, in any amount, are never a penalty.

tdude - you are like a thread member emeritus so you should be safe for now (although in stitches as the thread starter really has the final call...). All that said, get back to wearing HOBERS! :slayer:
