Those pindots are near invisible, yet the tie still looks grand!
pazzion, what is the fabric of this tie? It is gorgeous.
I believe that is cashmere but pazzion will need to confirm.
That is indeed cashmere (with some silk in it). And thank you very much!
I really like the depth of the blue in that tie! I like your knot as well. I find that I have a harder time tying a good knot with a smooth and "long" dimple with the bigger weave-grenadines. The fina almost ties itself, and the grossa is a bit harder. I have to struggle quite a bit to get a good knot with my prometeo. The prometeo is very new, so that could very well be part of the problem. Have you experienced anything similar?
With respect to the knot, I can't say that I struggle to form the same dimple with the grossa as with the fina (I don't have any of the prometeo). I would say that the grenadines, in general, require me to cinch the knot somewhat harder than other types (ie, diamond weaves, Macclesfields, etc) in order to achieve the same knot. In other words, I need to pull the knot tighter on the grenadines to form a similar dimple. To your point, it may just take a few wearings to make it easier...
Ok, good to know. Thanks! I hope so. Though the prometeo (black, untipped and rolled edges) is beautiful, so I'm just happy to practice.
anyone have the wedding/formal tie #11? any comments on how you like it?
I'm taking my new midnight blue Macclesfield on a test spin. It's my first 6-fold, and I really lile the feeling of it.
Some awesome ties being posted. I'm seriously considering unsubscribing to this thread until the July NPC is over.
Anywhere between 3.5 and 3.75 works for me, and is never out of place IMO. Said width has stood the test of time.
Interesting that Hober's default width is 3.75 (and 57 inches in length) particularly in light of the trend to go to 3.25 or, in many cases, even skinnier. Kudos to Hober for this!!!
My next order will be 3.65 x 58.5.
And it would appear that is a CT shirt. No?
God damn, I ordered three ties via regular postal service and they've just turned up at the office - €94 worth of customs charges apparently! Fuck.
And you, my friend, have a sharp eye! It sure is a CT shirt.
I know that feeling. I got a sweet €100 worth of customs charges on my last order..
