looks nice. how's that shirt holding up?
I think the one I first posted back in April (post #1930 in this thread) is similar. The colors are a bit washed out in the pic.
Another option might be the Macclesfield #75 (I don't have that one though ).
NOBD, If I were to copy that collar..
Would you hate me?
No I wouldn't, mrjester. Be my guest.
Just fine. The fabric is not exactly easy to iron, and unfused collars and cuffs make the ironing challenge even bigger, but that doesn't bother me.
Stitch and NOBD, that is honestly one of the hawtest ties I have ever seen. Just a perfect shade of brown. Almost coppery in sunlight.
I am going to have to copy.
Of course it would work with a mid gray or navy suit. Just make sure you wear brown shoes.
You could try browsing the Hober website. Or I could just tell you: Macclesfied 75 and 163 are both close to what you're looking for.
Also stitch, what were your specifications for that tie?
stitch, tdude and pinkpanther: thanks for the replies. I think Macclesfield #75 might be the closest match to the RLPL polka dot tie.
Flyswatter: Yes, I have been browsing the SH-website, but I haven't found that one, sorry.
Is brown shoes here a must? I've got a pair of brown oxford brogue shoes, but I feel that they are not quite formal enough for wearing with suits.
It's these ones: http://www.herringshoes.co.uk/product-info.php?&colset=1&styleid=252&shoeid=4511&brandid=6&catid=42&oldcolid=2396&stype=0&colourid=423
And +1 on Newcomer's request for specifications.
Yeah, saw some wrinkling around the collar seems. wanted to know your thoughts. thanks
Definitely. I have the navy, dark forest, and bitter chocolate finas; burgundy piccola, and the StyleForum Club Tie. The only other grenadine I have is from Drake's, and frankly, it isn't nearly as good. The silk and the interlining are stiffer, and it doesn't knot or drape as nicely as my Hobers.
Do you, or does anyone else, have pics of the navy fina?
IMO, when wearing a brown tie, brown shoes are a must. The ones you linked to would be fine with a suit.
I would love a Hober tie and wanted to get one for a convention in two weeks but it would never get to me in time.
