You could always opt for DHL shipping, which is tracked and significantly cuts down on transit time (to the U.S. anyway). 3 days for DHL vs. up to 3 weeks for standard delivery. On my most recent order DHL shipping was only $3 more ($18 vs. $15) than standard, so the choice was obvious.

I recently made my 3rd order, always opting for standard shipping.

I expect commissioned items to take as long as the current backlog of production in front of me. Nothing is stock.

If you need a special item for a special day and you're late in ordering, you can ask David if he can make special accommodation. Some months are probably busier than others, so the making will take as long as it takes and the shipping will take as long as it does. If I wanted a standard tie delivered tomorrow I'd buy from someone else. But, I want a specific tie, made of a specific fabric, in a specific length and width, with other specific details. I wait for that to be made at the pace it takes for it to be made.

I've got a pair of shoes on order since October (I think, maybe earlier) that was expected in early March that is still not ready. But, it's a custom shoe on a particular last and so I wait until it's ready. I could have bought RTW shoes, but I went MTO and that's just how it works from small factories with larger demand than production.

I believe that is Plaid #10 which is no longer on the website.

Snap! Mine arrived today too. Pretty sure we used up the last of the fabric - there was only one left in stock when I put the order in.

^ I wonder if that's the most commonly owned tie among Styleforum members. (I have it too.)

Was just about to say that the midnight blue grossa with brown and light blue stripes has become the SF club tie (I have it as well).

It's most definitely the iconic SF tie. Considering how rep stripes are usually indicative of club, regiment or school/university membership that's quite fitting.

Wonder if anyone else has it in British striping though?

Why are the swatches not pinked? It seems like it'd be trivial to implement, but there must be a reason. They're always threading apart on me.

I caved today and placed my first order, a black grenadine fina.

I'm sure this will be a slippery slope...
