Really? Of all the things Despos enumerated, I think this is the one I can't even start to picture.

ed, if I read it correctly, it means a patch pocket with the opening slanted down towards the back of the coat (a bit like a hacking patch pocket, I guess)

Haven't you learned yet from this thread that cutting mindful of the pattern as it is seen on the body is for dummies?

Have seen this in a pic online here. May have been Cifonelli, not sure. Yes, as you say. It reflects a hacking style with a patch pocket.

I think it means that the inner length of the pocket (the one closest to the buttons) ends at a higher point than the outer length (nearer the vents), so that the top edge of the pocket is slanted or curved down and away from center. At least, that's what I pictured.

Yeah, that's what I pictured. If the effect is slight, it would be far less objectionable than the hemispherical pockets Sciamat does.

I never noticed that. Sometimes, I don't notice that patterns run out or don't match at the seams etc. Personally, I tend to be more sensitive to the shape of the garment, I'm quite forgiving in other areas. Tailors, on the other hand, notice much more...

But there is a consistent view . . .

Blend with the jacket or stand out, and everything in between.

Just make sure it is JUST RIGHT!

Obviously Vox's is not quite right.

I forgot to mention the vaginal patch. The opening runs vertically down the center of the pocket.

Why is it that the collar pattern is very often not centered with respect to the lapel patterns? I see this time and time again on many jackets, even from the well respected tailors. This seems like a trivial task.

I think the respect shown is commensurate.

I am alarmed at all the misuse of the term "******" in this thread . . .

Unless the client has undergone gender reassignment surgery, the proper term is "mangina."
