A question about moleskin

Over lunch the other day I had an argument about moleskin with a colleague, he insisted that it's considered to be a fur product but I argued that officially it's closer to leather. Anyone have some insight on this?

You're both wrong. (You do know it's not actually the skin of a mole, right?). It's woven cotton.

I'm anti-fur, but I love wearing moleskin because I think moles are ugly, and the only purpose they serve is to make nice coats.

Well, better trousers use the skin of mole calves. I understand fetal moleskin is amazingly luxurious.

The original post, if serious, is just too funny.

I wish I knew the joke before I posted this as I rarely get a good laugh.

Thanks to the forum for the clarification, while I didn't think it was actually leather from moles, I did think it was made from some sort of mammal.

Hey, we all gotta start from zero.

Members with varying levels of sartorial knowledge abound, and frequent participation elevates one's sense of style, hopefully.
