I don't think there are any New Standards in desirable sizes anywhere in North America right now. I ordered a pair in 28 at the beginning of December from Tobi and I have been getting sporadic updates about when they will arrive but the date has been pushed back three times now. It seems that this is the case with most APC stockists.

I just lucked into a pair at The Westchester Mall at Barney's

Someone had put them in the back on hold and they were never picked up.[IMG]

You should use them as an excuse to show off your shoe collection in the SW&D WAYWTD.

I don't think I'll be calling the stores in NYC or LA as I'm getting them for around $95 from Tobi after the SF discount and an additional discount added on (I assume to keep the customer happy). I am alright with waiting as long as it doesn't take too much more time. I hope I did not imply that this was all the fault of Tobi. I know that they are as much at the mercy of APC as I am (actually more since, as you said, I could order from the actual APC anytime). They have not been totally on top of keeping me informed (I am sure they are busy with other things) but they have offered me discounts for my patience, which I appreciate.

Great price, I paid $140 IIRC.

So I just picked up my first pair of raw denim I got a pair of APC NS size 30 (2 or 3 sizes down.) I didn't realize that the length is standard depending on waist size. So basically they are really really long.

Here is my problem and confusion. I know these two things to be true:
1.) APCs will stretch a lot and since these are really tight on me (no longer able to have kids ) they WILL stretch in length.

2.) APCs will shrink mainly in length when washed.

I plan to treat these rough and not wash for at least 6 months.
So how do I coordinate both stretching in length and shrinkage in length when I have a pair of jeans that are as of now just too long.

Also I am hesitant to cuff raw denim because of the ring that might form when washed.

    Please advise oh wise ones.

How you apply two codes at once in Tobi? Someone said it was impossible...

Easy there cowboy. I am going off what they told me at the APC store as well as what other people have said here. With any denim, as there is the most stretching in the knee area which causes the length to increase a bit.

Also what does "might shrink an inch, or not" supposed to mean. Not much of a straight and definitive answer.

I am just trying to find out what people have done when there is too much stacking and what their hemming experiences have been.

I have never in my life heard of denim lengthwise, unless of course you have cinder blocks attached to the cuffs while being hung.

easy there lil doggie, I have never heard of any denim stretching lengthwise in the history of denim since the beginning of written denim history.

might shrink an inch or not - many people claimed APCs shrank a lot, mine shrank 1/2 inch on a 34 inch inseam. So it's not worth taking into consideration.

the key thing to remember is they are SANFORIZED

Ok, I reserve the right to be misinformed. That is why this forum is here, for those with greater information to share with those who have less.

So ok then, I should not worry about stretching length. So I can feel free to hem them if I feel that the 34 length stacking is too much?

I should post a picture already....

No second code was applied. Further discounts were issued by Tobi to compensate for the jeans coming (hopefully--they have not come yet) 3 months later than they said they would.
