Well, I got the chance to try on a pair of 26s. They were a tight fit but I suppose after stretching they'll become baggier and fall low on the hips eh.
They didn't have any 25s anymore so I couldn't check if I could still button that one up.

Trying on these APCs also came at high price, got my student free public transport card stolen (no idea what else to call this in English), and now I have to pay a $40 fine for it.
On my way back I got fined in the train for not having a valid ticker (that's when I found it got stolen) and got a $65 to go with the previous one.

I'm still going to order a pair, though.

OK, with the raves in this forum, I'm very intrigued about the APC New Standards. Things is... I really want to try them on first.

Anybody knows of any stores in/near San Diego that carry them? There were none listed in the APC web site. I'd prefer not to go to LA just for that. Otherwise, I'll be in San Francisco in a few weeks, so I can try them out while I'm there (any store recommendations there?)

Well, I finally ordered a pair. I wear a 31 in Levi's Skinners and they're quite tight through the thigh, although just right/tiny bit loose in the waist. I ordered a 29, so I hope they fit correctly. I can't wait to get them. How long do they usually take before they ship orders?

    hey guys,

i own a pair of pre-washed NS, which are my favourite jeans. I took a size 31, but could easily fit into a 30 but dont want the fitted look, let alone the painted look. my question is, with the raw NS should i get a 29 or a 30. ie i know that one should always get the raw one size down from the washed, but will they shrink further in the wash.

should i stick with 30 (which is the equivalent of 31 in pre-washed)
or get a 29 and hope they really stretch out.

i also own a pair of dior homme raw japanese 19 size 31. although they easily fit round my hips, i do find the cut a little leggin ish as i have big thighs- and the look is a bit too trendy/tight for me

    any advice

    cheers

I just got mine and they're amazing. I could just barely button the top two at first, but I can tell they've already stretch a bit in the last half hour. I think 29 was the right choice...28 would have been unwearable. I hope they don't stretch ridiculously though because I sort of like a tight fit.

These are my indigo wash new standards. they are my favourite, jean but have stretched isnce i took this picture. i can pull them off without undoing top button and without a belt they fall down, but love the shape and comfort.
I want to get a pair of the Raw indigo new standards, the ones in the pic are 31, but as i said they stretched a bit and i dont know the nature of the indigo denim, excpet that it comes out bigger. should i therefor get a 30 or 29 in the raw NS.

Yet another sizing question. I have a pair of Rescues that are a 33 waist and am contemplating picking up a pair of New Standards. Is the waist sizing pretty much the same? The Rescues fit well and are perhaps a touch on the baggy side.

Also I was wondering if most people get their jeans hemmed before wearing, soak them, or just wear them? Being 6'3 I can get away with the 36" inseam with a small cuff. Is there a "best way" to go about it? I havent been wearing raw denim for very long.

    Thanks

I too am curious about the APC New Standards. Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with premium/raw denim, so I'm unaware about how I would size, or compare it to some of the popular brands here for comparison.

I prefer a straighter leg jean, or a very slight taper. I posted a photo in the WAYWT thread yesterday that shows the cut that I typically prefer. It's neither "loose" nor "tight" in the thigh (approx 21" mid thigh), but there is about an extra inch of slack there that keeps it from being tight. It tapers slightly, and is straight from the knee down, with a 17" leg opening. 9" front rise, and 13" back rise, and 32" inseam (measured from back). Waist is measured at 16" straight across (I could have sized down to a 31"), and they sit at 2.5" below the navel.

    My body measurements are:
    Waist, 2.5" below navel: 31-31.5"
    Hips: 35.5"
    Upper thigh: 22"
    Mid thigh 19.5"
    Calf: 14.5"

I would like them to be fitted around the waist (no belt tightning required), a bit of room in the thighs, and enough room for the junk. Anybody here with similar measurements know if a 29" or 30" would be better? I'm worried that one would be too tight, while the later a little too loose around the waist.

I like how blee's look, 'cept I'd cuff instead of bunch.

The cut you described sounds just like the NS. I usually wear 31 jeans, but I ordered a 29 in my NS. Initially, they were incredibly tight, but now after a week of wear, they have stretched out to look almost exactly like blee's, which is how I want them. If you want them to stay fitted in the waist, definitely go with the 29s.

I can fit comfortably into 31s, so I think you're right in saying I should go with 29s.

Next question - since these will have to be shipped to the Great White North, any Canadian friendly shops where I can order them from (that ship with USPS - not FedEx/UPS)?

Azalea sells APC and ships internationally I think. They don't sell APC online though, so you probably will have to place a phone order. I don't know whether there are Canadian companies that carry APC though.

I finally got around to trying some APC New Standards and... what's with only having one inseam length??? For high quality jeans, I was fully expecting to have different sizes. Sorry, but a 28x36 is simply ridiculous on me.

How do other people deal with it? Do you cuff them, or do you tailor them to your length? Or do you just have a ton of wrinkled-up denim around your ankles?

so it turns out that on looking closer the jeans i am wearing in the photo are actually called cure on the tag. can someone explain the difference between cure and new standards. i think i should have got a 30 in the ones im wearing, so thas does mean i should size down when going to raw denim. ie does raw denim come out larger than the pre washed denim

    cheers
