    what's APC NS threads?
ok so which cuts are absolute straight leg (no tapering at all at the hem) or slight bootleg? from those which ones have medium rise and semi-slim(slimmer than regular but not skin tight)?
    please enlighten me.

Right, bit of an update...finally managed to try on some New Standards in a 30 and 32 waist. Nearly had a hernia trying to get the 30s on and couldn't do up any of the buttons despite struggling with them for about 10 minutes [IMG], also they were much (much) too tight around the thighs, for me anyway. As for the 32s, the sat perfectly on my hips without a belt, the waist was comfortable and when I pulled the denim at the waist there was about a 1cm of space; I also really liked the fit at the thigh and lower leg, unfortunately they didn't have a 31 just to make sure it was the perfect fit.

Do you guys think I should get the 32s? I didn't buy them on the spot, as I got a bit worried having read here that they'll stretch a lot at the waist that they'll end up falling off my ass [IMG] but if no tension is applied to denim at the waist (as the 32s fit perfect), surely it won't stretch there?

As a side note, I tried on a pair of Rescues in size 30 and they were still massive (I reckon I could've fitted in 29s quite comfortably) despite me being a 32, so I'd really urge those considering buying a pair to size down three times, like LA Guy suggested.

Bumping my message incase it's missed on the previous page.

I was wondering something about APC. In the future, I'm thinking about getting a pair of NS. I know that there's an APC store in NY and I'll probably wind up going there to get them. My question is if I wear a 29 in most jeans, should I size down to a 28 or just get my normal waist.

Even though the thread is 10 pages long, it is worth a read, as I found it quite informative.

New Standards are medium rise with a tapered leg (fitted lower leg), whilst Rescues (called Straight on the APC website) are full rise, straight leg jeans. I think Cure is medium rise, skinny leg but perhaps someone could confirm that.

To get the fit you're after, look at the first post of the thread, where LA Guy covers sizing.

Hmm really strange that they were so tight on you.. I just got my 30 NS from Azalea, and they fit me just perfect, and aren't that much tighter in the waist than my fully stretched out 30 Rescues from February (about an inch I would say). They're of course slimmer in the thighs though.

thanks for the sizing info, i just ordered my first pair of raw denim 'apc new standard raw 30x34'. i feel like i just robbed a bank. i usually wear waist size 31, but i've been meaning to lose 10-15lbs; the new denim purchase should be enough motivation. oh by the way, hello :0 first post!

Do the leg measurements of the APC's stay the same throughout the size range? Or do they vary with the waist size?

I have a pair of straight leg jeans, that are a tad baggy than what I'm looking for (but i got 'em cheap!) I am considering getting altered to get a fit similar to the New Standards.

Its a size 30 waist (real measurements). Anybody have a 28 or 29 NS that can do me the favour of taking a few measurements? (Across the thigh, knee, and leg opening)

    Thanks!

    hey guys,

i own a pair of new standards in the light blue wash, and i take a 31. the fit is quite loose, and i probs could have got away with the size down.

i want to buy a pair of NS but in raw denim. should i get a 30 or 29, considering i dont want tight and i know they strethc a bit.

as an addition, i tried on rescues in raw denim in a 30 and they were baggy and unflattering on me.

so what size should i take my raw NS

I could give you measurements for a 28 but they're old and well worn so the sizing might have varied. They're in my laundry pile though so they should be near "new" sizing if I measure them just after they've been washed and before wearing (stretching) them.

Ok - as seen on another thread, I'm thinking of taking the plunge. I've read this whole thread and want to get it right:

In dress pants I wear a 35-36" waist. 36" is probably my true waist size.

    In Levi regular fit (505?) I would wear a 35" or 36"
    In Levi relaxed fit (550) I would wear a 34" or 35"
    In Levi Loose fit (560) I wear a 33" or a 34" (I own a pair in each size)

On this web site, http://www.azaleasf.com/apcr.html they suggest an APC Rescue, labelled 31" has an actual waist of 36". If that's accurrate, I should wear a 31", which is a full 5" down from regular fit Levis, and still 2"-3" down from Levis loose fit.

Can that be right? Perhaps I'm larger than I think, and need a 32" in APC Rescues.

    Comments please.

    Thanks!

I just measured my 28" NS. Here are the measurements:
Thigh seam to seam right underneath the crotch: 11 inches
    Inseam: 34 inches
Waist buttoned and laid flat: 15.5 inches.
    Leg opening: 7.5 inches

I have been wearing them for about a week and they did stretch a bit in the thigh and waist.

Does anyone know if hot soak and hot tumble dry would shrink them about 2 inches in length?
I usually wear 31 - 32" inseam so if it does, I will give them a wash.
Otherwise, I will hem them and wear them till they smell rotten. [IMG]
