That brings up a good point. Many times the lug size is not mentioned when purchasing a watch unseen. The lugs on my Sea-gull 1963 hang a little off my wrist while my Antea's dig a little in my wrist. The Seagull is more comfortable to wear even though it is larger and heavier than the Stowa.

I'm not down with an oversized watch, but they certainly look great on others.

I have a Stowa Antea KS too:

Note that although the case diameter is 35mm, the rim's quite thin so the face is relatively large.

I also have a Tag Heuer 2000 series classic quartz:

- despite it being 37mm just across the bezel, the smaller face means that the watch actually looks smaller than my Antea KS.

Stowa is currently selling a limited edition of the Antea (not KS) with black date. 100 numbered copies only.

Omega makes a midsize Seamaster. It's a beautiful everyday diver watch, with a 36-37mm case diameter and it comes in quartz or automatic. Neither will be cheaper than $1k new, but I have seen the automatics around $1k used, and the quartz ones as low as $600 or so.

I'm not really a watch-guy, but the Ebel that I've worn for almost 20 years is as exceptionally comfortable as it is thin.

Jaeger le coultre, reverso. Very smart watches. Buy it used, because the price is half. Ebel is the kiss of death

Have you thought about going vintage? I have a nice Hamilton, bought used, had it cleaned & swapped the retro steel expansion band for a nice leather, total was about $120.
Which Hamilton did you get fantastic? There are SO many

Well I did it, broke down and got the Stowa AKS. It's very beautiful, a little bigger than I thought. I actually had to poke a new hole in the band with an ice pick for it to fit.

I hope this thing can stand normal every-day wear

Congrats on the new AKS. I wear mine all the time.
Did you order the short band from Jorg? If you didn't, you can get a short next time around. That said, I think I use the last hole on the short band.

Congratulations! I'm wearing mine right now.

Oh, and I had to get three holes added...

I will take a pic or two after I unwind from a 12 hour workday Sorry no Stowa Appreciation from me. Either the pic is washed out there is so much light, or too dark. Sometimes this Coolpix5700 is a pain **********.
