Alright the options look kinda boring.

If I go used what cars would I be looking at? I will try my hardest to convince my mom.

Screw off and drop dead until mommy stops buying your diapers.
I think a better attitude on his part would have helped. But +1.

Well being as its your first car, you will probably treat it like shit and wreck it within a couple years so something with too much power is not going to be a good idea (used WRX/STi). Get a Vitz/Yaris hatch, Fit (do they sell it with Forced induction in the US?), Mazda 3 Mazdaspeed, Golf GTi, etc. Something somewhat entry level. Convince your mom that a one or two year certified used is going to be the way to go, especially since it may get fucked quickly. No offense or anything, but you are 16, and a 16YO with a new car (especially anything sporty) is just asking to get into an accident.
When I was 16 I rolled my Honda Civic hatch because I was driving like a fucktard trying to impress my friends.

My first new car was a VW GTI...I LOVED that car.

BTW, if you live in an urban area with a lot of traffic, just get manual transmission. If you live where there is a lot of open road, get yourself the stick. Nothing is worse than driving stick in stop and go traffic, but nothing is better than shifting gears on an open road.

    Good luck.

I'd get some <$3000 piece of shit to beat around for the next two years or so; odds are you'll probably crash it at some point. Keep in mind a new car + your age = really fucking expensive insurance, but I guess if you don't have to pay for all that than it doesn't matter.

Back on topic, I'd go for the Honda FIT. My sister owns one; I love it.

A VW Jetta would probably work best for you.

I am indebted to this thread because I have learrned a new word: fucktard. Thank you RatBoy.
When I was your age our ride was our thumb stuck out and you took your chances on the driver not grabbing for your crotch while he asked if you liked Judy Garland. So you've got it pretty good with your cougar mom ready to spring for hot wheels. Repay her by allowing her a little 'quality' time with one of your 16 year-old buds.

You post your new MB and then tell him to drop dead. Your post = FAIL. [IMG]

I'm getting all the Jon talk that went on here while you were gone.

Kid tells the entire board we buy "used shit" and his mommy won't buy him that? Now, does my post make a little sense? If not, just pretend it does.

Golf GTI. They changed it much for the better for 2010/2011 (or so I'm told)

But really, a CPO car is just as good as new. The only thing that will be different is perhaps the model year # but no one sees or cares about that anyway.
