Or is it an oxymoron?

I know netbooks generally suck at streaming videos. However, with all the new technologies surfacing, is there one that can finally stream Hulu or Netflix well?

I recommend something with a Pentium 4. It will accelerate teh internet.

I see. Would the graphics processor matter still? (disclaimer: I am no IT person as you can tell...)

This seems like a pretty good breakdown of the best netbooks.

It looks like the HP Mini 311-1025NR has one of the best screen/graphics (it looks to be one of the few with dedicated graphics) and can be had for under $400. It's pretty pricey for a netbook, but might be worth it.

Nice link - thanks!! I came across another review of the HP Mini 311 - They said the web-based video was still not up to speed (pun unintended) http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/hp-m...-33772608.html Although, maybe the about.com review was completed after the new Flash had come out so the video performance was better....

Just get a core 2 duo low voltage netbook. Asus UL20 Also check the lenovo u150 for 11.6" and lenovo u350 for 13". They should go on sale for the $500-600 range.

It was a smartass response with nerds as a target audience. Back in the pentium 4 days, claiming that the pentium 4 would accelerate the internet was part of intel's marketing campaign. It was, of course, total bullshit. Anyway, I can't imagine any netbook with a modern cpu that would have difficulty playing streamed video. Playing video just isn't that demanding of a task, unless its full HD, but with the tiny screens of netbooks, it's really not a concern imo. Maintaining decent quality for streaming video is mostly about bandwidth, and your netbook isn't going to be the bottleneck there, your internet connection will, hence my joke about the pentium 4.
