The wonder revival of Broadway none other than A Little Night Music will make some adjustments to its cast on Tuesday, August 31. The show features music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by Hugh Wheeler; the production is directed by Trevor Nunn. There is no doubt that It was one of the most highly anticipated events of the summer theater season .The debut of Bernadette Peters and Elaine Stritch in the Broadway revival of the Stephen Sondheim-Hugh Wheeler musical "A Little Night Music." Earlier this summer, this renowned pair of performers stepped into the roles of Desiree and Madame Armfeldt, roles earlier played in this production by Catherine Zeta-Jones and Angela Lansbury. On Stage's Roma Torre currently got the chance to chat with these great ladies of the stage about taking on "A Little Night Music." When it was announced Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's A Little Night Music would return to Broadway for its first-ever revival in 2009, it seemed impossible any two leading ladies could generate more buzz than original stars Catherine Zeta-Jones and Angela Lansbury, who took the stage as aging diva actress Desiree and disapproving mother, Madame Armfeldt. Of course, that was before the announcement of their successors, stage legends Bernadette Peters and Elaine Stritch, the two Sondheim muses breathing acclaimed new life into the production.

St. Petersburg Opera opens its Fifth season with Stephen Sondheim's musical masterpiece composed exclusively in 3/4 time, or in variations thereof. A Little Night Music won the Tony Award for Best Musical when it premiered in 1973. Now showing in revival on Broadway, actress Catherine Zeta-Jones recently won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a musical for her portrayal as Desiree Armfeldt. The song "Send in the Clowns" has become a popular music standard and has been recorded by dozens of superstars, including Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand and Judy Collins, whose recording garnered Sondheim the 1975 Grammy for Song of the Year. The good news about the fans of the show is that A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC will play September 17 & 18 at 7:30pm and September 19 at 2:00 PM at the Palladium Theater. This theater is fantastic if you want to see the musical Theater so you can purchase the cheap little night music tickets and get the real fun.

Broadway World has confirmed that Bradley Dean (Spamalot, Company, The Story of My Life, Man of La Mancha) will change Aaron Lazar as Count Carl-Magnus Malcolm in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC on August 31, 2010. Dean has understudied Lazar during the production in addition to playing the role of servant Frid. Lazar will play his last performance on August 29. Stephen R. Buntrock, who has played Mr. Lindquist since the show's opening will step into the role of Frid, while Ben Davis will join the company as the new Mr. Lindquist. The revival of Stephen Sondheim's famously entertaining musical of romantic entanglements "A Little Night Music" at the Walter Kerr has two new leading ladies, namely Bernadette Peters and Elaine Stritch. And I am thrilled to say that they are both amazing while almost completely opposed to their predecessors Catherine Zeta Jones and Angela Lansbury who were equally wonderful in the show.
