A Harris item on ebay

    Someone needs to buy the Poole tailcoat on Ebay -- it's brillant. A 42L unfortunately, so won't fit me. But everything about it is nice. Where did you find that item? In California somewhere??

    Hot damn, that is beautiful. I think it is just a shade too small. You say the sleeves can be lengthened to 26.5? Won't that affect the buttonholes? Also, what's the front measurement?

    Manton, I agree that it is a very nice looking coat - is it typical for the lapels to extend above the shoulders as in this coat? I admit to not being familiar at all with tailcoats; I only ever see them in old movies, and in fact, I haven't even seen one in person, ever. You'd be sure to turn some heads wearing something like that these days.

    It looks fine; that's the camera angle. You can tell from the side shots that the tips of the lapels stop well short of the shoulder seam. No worries.

    On Savile Row they call pitched, upturned peaked lapels like that "nose-pickers". Classic old world touch.
