I am searching for a good stout beer. I do like Guinness, but I am looking to venture out. Is it possible to buy a good stout in a bottle? Any help would be fantastic.

My two suggestions. 1) Zywiec Porter (an oatmeal stout)

2) A plug for my own favourtie local product:

Beamish. Deee-*******-licious. With a slice of soda bread and butter, it's pure heaven, boy!

Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout or Three Floyd's Moloko Milk Stout are both outstanding if you can get your hands on them.

I just had a bottle of this the other day and it is fantastic. Incredibly rich and smooth. The Imperial Russian Stout from the same brewery is also stellar.

Hell yeah, Beamish is gooooood.

But my old standby is Guinness.

Beamish is a good old school brew, better than Guinness.

I like Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout

+1 for Goose Island Bourbon County Stout, it is one of my favorites (this years batch should be arriving in bottles very soon)

also Dogfish Head World Wide Stout and Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout

and although it is not a stout Capital City Baltic Porter

All are very rich, and incidentally very high in alcohol. I like them chilled just below room temperature.

A few more I have been meaning to try are Three Floyds Dark Lord Imperial Stout (which also comes in several aged variations) and Kate The Great-Russian Imperial Stout from Portsmouth Brewery. Anyone had these yet?

Mackeson's Triple Stout. My long-time favorite stout in a bottle.

Brad made some excellent suggestions. My go to stouts are Victory Storm King Stout, Brooklyn Brewery Black Chocolate stout or one of the Stone Brewery stouts. I try to keep a few bottles of each on hand.
