What are people's impressions on this new brand?

as for myself, I can't help but think it's too close to r by 45rpm in look and philosophy.

The distressing on the jeans is superlative, and really expensive. Cargos and chinos are very well done as well. The other pieces in the collections, nice, but in the same vein as Rag & Bone and 5EP, but at higher prices. I would recommend those two companies for a similar look at less.

agreed. it seems that the asthetic of the late nineteenth century is 'very' in right now. just look at all of the clones of barking irons' t-shirts.

Heh. I actually really like this trend. Fits into my military surplus, western inspired, earthtoned (for the most part) wardrobe really well. (Growing up in Canada, you end up liking earthtones and greys a lot, for the most part). The Barking Irons tees, I'm not so big on. Give me The Cast or Kenzo Minami any day.

rag and bone definitely tapped into that look you describe. either way, it seems a hell of a lot smarter to go with r&b, 5ep, etc. over a gilded age. and if you want to spend the money for gilded age, might as well go with 45rpm. i bought that oxford they offer on the r by 45rpm website, and it's the best shirt ever. the buttons are real seashell, and you don't see that everyday.

Doesn't it seem like a lot of movies coming out now take place back then, too? Maybe next year, frat boys will be wearing dirty suits and calling girls "M'lady."

either that, or in the spirit of 'deadwood', sporting empire beards and calling everyone "c***sucker".
