A gianluca isaia in my closet

Hello all, After a lot of disapointment eBay finally delivered. I contacted the seller of this Isaia jacket and bought it for his opening bid. The jacket is just as advertised and fits me rather well. It's a cm or two on the long side but nothing serious and the shoulders a bit wider that I expected for the brand despite having very soft padding. If you look at the pictures, you can see that the lapels roll very low and I'm not sure that it suits the jacket, not to mention that the backside of the top buttonhole is not finished so I rather suspect that the lapels would look better higher. Any opinions ? Should I use the steaming trick on the lapels and see where that gets me ? Now I just have to get the unfinished sleeves done, preferably with proper buttonholes. Are there any Stockholmers that could tell me where to go ? Should I go to some of the finer shops (NK or Hans Allde) or do you know of a tailor that would do a good job of this ? Bjorn

I've bought a couple of items from this seller and they have both been exactly as promised. He seems to deliver very high end merchandise at reasonable prices. I only wish he had a bit more in a 42 long.

Dan G: I second that. I've put him on my 'good sellers' list - I realised after I had paid that I had absoloutly no safety net as I contacted him directly but he delivered.

I have that exact jacket myself.. About the lapels - it has a very high gorge and button stance so I think I don't think it would look better with the lapels rolled any higher. I'd leave it as it is.

Bjorn, I am nowhere near Stockholm, so I can't help you with a specific tailor.  But if I had that jacket, I would get the sleeves finished and go with it.  I think the lapel roll as shown looks just fine, and would not attempt to change it.  The low roll gives the jacket some distinction....some....sportiness.  Probably if you think about it, that may have been one of the features that really attracted you to the jacket in the first place.  I have a somewhat similar pattern in a Harris tweed that I wish I could wear more frequently.  Mine obviously has to stay in the closet during this time of year.

Hi Bjorn,
I was pleasantly surprised to find one of my customers here and hear such positive comments about the clothing I sell on Ebay.
You say, "If you look at the pictures, you can see that the lapels roll very low and I'm not sure that it suits the jacket".
The main reason why the lapels look a bit funny in that picture is; the jacket (38R) is too small for the mannequin.
I thought I'd point that out.
Anyway, I'm glad everyone seems happy with the things they bought from me.

Hello Hans,

This is probably the case. Now it rolls halfway down and one can sort of see the edge of the top buttonhole.

I still have to get the sleeves finished but there is no hurry - It's too hot for summer and my current lifestyle involves spending lot of time in sandboxes running after my toddler so there is no hurry.

He he - I got you there. I just moved to Swden from Iceland but am lucky enough to hava a very swedish name (not a sure thing for us). My swedish needs some improvement but I can understand much of what is written and said, including your message. I'll start lurking on this forum and see if I can find help.
