Nice! Looking forward to seeing them take form!
Julian, Is there some pictures of dark cognac cordovan? of better quality...
Shell bal boot........buy it
Thinking of a design more in line with the G&G Wigmore... Something like black shell uppers with the shaft using #8 but in pebble Alas, no pebble shell
I can always find room for shell bal boots.
Yes, suggestion totally welcomed - 724 is true to size in line with 99 for fit and length.
Definitely up for getting an order in for the Miller (Suede/shell) Balmoral boot? At this point, they have "some interest, but no orders." I am not thrilled about plunking down the money and then waiting a couple of months before production can even begin with 16 weeks production time after that. I am tempted to just go with the G&G Canterbury or the EG Shannon (yes, I know they have a captoe, so the style is a bit different.) The prices escalate dramatically, however. (In pounds): 550 for AS, 750 for G&G, 960 for EG (shipping and trees. Neither G&G or EG is quoted for shell.
Anyways....any interest in:
(image does not show the shoe in shell)
I would be fine doing the boot in the dark oak calf as pictured. Don't know if that is an option. The problem with customizing is that you still need to get six orders together; that is why i would be fine with just gpoing with the model/make-up they are offering.
I have the Moore in 724. I am a US 10.5D and went with the UK9.5F. Plenty of length and a little roomy in the width. I think I would do a 9.5E in the boot. For the most part, the 724 fits me like the C&J 348 or 337 with a little more width.
I am considering... But definitely will take part (if) only when the production order will be at start. I am poor student )))) and can't throw away my money for half a year))))
And that colours are not my favorite. But will se what other participants have to say)))
There is a rainbow of colours of Miller on AS facebook page and proposed one isn't the best I think.
So lets see
I may be interested, but this will be an impossible task if we just let the masses voice what they're interested in. A strong leader must emerge, one with superior taste, and narrow the range of options to 3-4 models. Then we can see if we can whip up enough orders. (I've been living in non-democratic societies for too long).
If we let people just randomly shout what options they're interested in, this thread will go nowhere. Pure democracy is chaos. Even functioning ones operate as republics.
So - someone take charge. Figure out three or four smart models and propose them. Then let people decide whether they see something they like.
Some form of a dress boot seems popular right now. What are the other two or three models?
One of the appeals I believe is having the boot made with Cordovan. My preference is the Miller boot (standard last, medallion plain toe) but with the upper made with black cordovan and the shaft with #8. Thoughts?
Just a note of interest, we have been given very special dispensation to use the AS Handgrade styles of AS Benson and AS Miller, albeit on Exclusive lasts.
The AS Handgrade styles are considerably more expensive.
This will not always be possible, and is yet more support from AS in our group mto programme.
+1. I would suggest 2 shell models and 2 non-shell models.
That is why I am fine going with the model advertized by A Fine Pair...otherwise we will talk ourselves in circles and never reach a consensus.
I agree this would be best, though whoever leads should check with AS and AFPS to see if we all need to go along with the same material. Perhaps that's not necessary.
Is it possible to place an MTO as a "one off" and pay a make-up fee?
Getting agreement on six pair will be pretty difficult I fear. That must be why you offered/promote the shoe the way you do on your website. A suede/shell combination in the colors you describe. Sounds like a very distinctive shoe and an even better value.
I'd buy it immediately were it a stock item.
I have seen some vendors keep a counter where the number of orders received are indicated and updated. I can see this cutting two ways. With no orders in it might well discourage someone from placing an order. On the other hand, if it said 4/6 in, the last two orders might follow pretty quickly. Kind of a catch 22, I admit.
Yes, we need a minimum of six pairs in the same style, colour and leather type. I will make sure I update the count on this thread so you can see how many are left to go. Most importantly is that we are very careful with your money. This is going to take a bit of care and attention, but I'm sure we can get it going.
