I sent them back, cost me $55. In the end, all things considered, I paid full price and got free trees.

Ah yes, the cost of buying shoes from overseas without the benefit of trying them on first to determine proper sizing. Something I'm all too familiar with, unfortunately.

How does one qualify for discounted trees if the total is 250 pounds with VAT taken out?

Gyasih, I'm assuming you are in the US...

You don't;you pay the difference between the free belt and the regular price of the trees.

Well see that's my point, i'm looking at the Herricks on AFPOS website, and without VAT the total is 250 pounds. I don't qualify for the free belt because i am not spending 300 pounds on a pair of shoes. How did it work for you is my question...

Sorry, the belt would be free. They are honoring that, although VAT drops the price of the shoes to 250gbp.

Nice! If AS makes a chukka on the 724 with the same suede material and natural edge it would blow the C&J Tetbury out of the water!

    Moores are en route!

Thanks for the kind words. In this case though, I had a good looking model to work with :)

Just got my Herricks and lasted trees today. First experience with both Alfred Sargent and AFPOS. Couldn't be happier with either. I haven't tried them on yet--waiting until I get home tonight.

Nothing beats opening up a shoebox with great shoes inside. The aroma hits your nose before your eyes even register what you're looking at, and then it all sinks in together. Just great.

No offense to AFPOS, but your website photos do not do this shoe service. From the photos, I was worried that they were going to be a little blobby, but not at all! The last is quite attractive and imo a perfect shape for suede captoes. And the sole is a dark brown that looks amazing with the shoe. The photos on AFPOS make it look kind of glossy and black, but it's a chocalate brown and looks incredible.

    Pure. Sexy. Goodness.

(my photos aren't much, if any better, but couldn't resist)

Great you like them MRMstl - dark brown suede is tricky to photograph well, but they are very nice with a luxurious nap and lovely balance of the 109 last - hope you enjoy them.

MRMstl, enjoy them, they are great shoes.

My new pair should be here soon. You cannot go wrong with the Herrick or AFPOS.

Moores should hopefully come in today or early next week. One of the highlights of AFPoS: Whiskey shell Ramseys (xp from AS Thread) [IMG]
