A few of my favorite things

As Hugh Grant memorably stated, "Not to blow my own horn..." and I certainly do not mean to, but I've run up a fair number of requests to see certain things I've mentioned and finally broke out the digital camera. Plus, I've realized that pictures, even bad pictures, even pictures of badly coordinated, badly chosen or badly designed items, are the currency of credence of the internet clothes fora. Although I'm no kitonbrioni, I rather like what I own, and while I can't do this very often, thought I'd do so today. I'll also be putting up certain things on the sale forum shortly.

I don't own a Persian rug but you'll see bits of my two fireplaces (neither working, unfortunately).

Genuine (OLD) tortoiseshell links, white gold chain added by Rosset & Gaulejac:

Holliday & Brown "Special Re-edition" tie, one of the most beautiful ties I have ever seen, just purchased from Off 5th. Quality's very high, but H&B is now all made in Italy now by its Italian owner Mantero.

Bespoke Charvet shirt (haven't yet had chance to wear) in light green Swiss zephyr cotton:

The H&B ties are from Franklin Mills, which has the best Off 5th I've been to. Also has a very nice, pretty knowledgeable salesman (tall and thin, goatee or beard).

The Charvet ties are all from 28, place Vendome.

Love the Charvet shirt. Is it in an end-on-end fabric? The Swiss cotton might be the Alumo Zephir Soyella, a truly lovely shirting fabric. Is it about a 160s?

What's the story on these? Did you have a different tortoise shell item fabricated into cufflinks?

Nope. I bought a vintage pair of tortoiseshell cufflinks after seeing tortoiseshell links being sold at Arnys. The pair that I bought had a very long, very rudimentary metal length connecting them. I asked the very interesting bespoke cufflinkmakers Rosset & Gaulejac of the Rue Jacob if they could shorten the link, and they instead suggested inserting a chain of the desired length.
