Great shoes! Distinctive but still wearable -- a very difficult combination to achieve. I think you can wear them with just about anything. You need to blow up those pics and tape them to the walls of your office. So when you're in the office at 11 PM on a Friday night, you'll know why you're there.

LOL, I was just talking about that movie with someone. What a great, great bad movie. Particular when Christopher Lee dances.

But Bengal, for shame, Tony knew what they were as soon as he laid eyes on them (no, they're not symbols for the Worshipful Guild of Cordwainers). I wonder if there are cat symbols out there for my next pair of shoes.

Oh, nothing to cause you to return them, I'm sure. She's not familiar with a side-gusset shoe to begin with, tends not to like expanses of leather without seams and doesn't like the strong chisel to the toe. Other than that and the color, she's fine with them.

My wife tends to have very strong opinions on such things that are dictated largely by visceral reaction. Consider it one of the advantages, in your case, of being unattached.

I reiterate, however: outstanding shoes.

Not offended at all! I was needling you! That Wicker Man insignia would have made a great medallion. I think medwards once suggested I should have little cat head medallions on Cleverley Russia Calf so the [late] RJ cat would have "little reindeer skins to chew on".

Um, you sunk my Battleship?

The color is really amazing -- it has a depth and richness a black shoe wouldn't.

The toe shape has made me rediscover how great chiselled toes are. I was so tired of the blunt toes on the Weston Savile line, the Crockett 337 and others. These really bring home the elegant sweep of a real chisel toe. I have Henry Maxwells with a very angular chisel... perhaps I will start wearing those.
