If your question can be answered in a single post, don't post a new thread. All of these questions should be in the small questions thread.

For example "Where do I find X?" never deserves a new thread. Nor does "Who makes Y?" If you are posing a more open ended question that might actually spark a discussion, or god forbid, you want to start a thread on a new designer we've never heard of but yet doesn't suck, then please, make a new thread.

Thanks,

Fok.

What about this or that threads that have been hugely popular amongst noobs who want to discuss the merits of redwings vs wolverines? Or duffle coats?

This doesn't address the people who encourage these threads by giving OPs what they want. $300 fine for anyone who gives good, helpful advice in a **** thread that shouldn't exist?

For example:

OP: "where can I find this belt buckle?"
Poster: "Please ask in small questions thread. But to answer your question......"

$300 fine right there!!

How about noobs shouldn't be allowed to start threads period. This site has grown so much since I joined, I doubt a noob question can't be answered by a simple search.

Seriously, make it so you can't make a thread for at least a week after you join. This oughta shut down noob impulse topics.

You like the idea that helpful advice could result in a fine, for real? SF takes a tentative step closer to being a police state.
