A Daily "Mens Clothing" and "Streetwear and Denim" Fit Comparison Thread About six years ago (I can't quite remember exactly when the change occurred), Style Forum was not divided between "Mens Clothing" and "Streetwear and Denim." There was only a single "Clothing Forum." The original What Are You Wearing Right Now? (WAYWRN) thread, thus, made no distinction among what bias of style or objective in dress a member of SF might have when posting. This absence of distinction also applied, of course, to all of the other clothing threads. Some viewed this state as cacophony. Some viewed it as opportunity. Most, of course, did not care since the vast majority of SF members are largely passive consumers of other people's posts. The idea to create a new "Streetwear and Denim" forum out of the Clothing Forum is encapsulated in this thread. http://www.styleforum.net/t/9644/new-streetwear-forum Since that time, the steady state of SF has been for a nearly complete division of discussion based on how new members select his (rarely, her, and then often in secret) sub-forum. At any given time, the count of members constructively active in both forums never seems to rise past single digits (note that SF's membership roster is supposedly over 100,000), so tall, deep, and wide is the wall that forum mechanics created. In cycles that seem the same each time, that wall is breached. In nearly every case, it involves partisans of one "side" deciding "to school" or "troll" the other on the deficiencies, or hilarity, or life-inappropriateness, of the other "side's" clothes. All train wrecks. The partisans retreat behind their walls and chortle among themselves over what brilliant soldiers they have been for their cause. So: every day in this thread when I feel like it, I am going to select one "fit" from SW&D WAYWT and one "fit" from MC from the previous day and post them side-by-side. I will duplicate these posts in both forums. The thread for MC is here: http://www.styleforum.net/t/293227/...-and-denim-fit-comparison-thread#post_5303788 I would think that the bulk of the comments from MC posters will be there, if you are interested. I will not comment on the fits. The reasons why I select each fit might be because: They are both great They are both terrible They share similarities They show divergences But in any case, I am going to do my best not to select them to slant things toward one "side" or another. We'll start tomorrow.
