    List updated!!
Doucal's not good enough to make the list?
You forgot Bettanin and Venturi and Berluti, both which trump anything the English make IMHO. At least in getting compliments.
Dama Milano make MTO shoes in Italy.
Bespoke Only: http://cobblersweb.style.coocan.jp/b...6/g.marini.htm G Marini Via Francesco Crespi, 97 00187 Roma Gorgeous shoes. Never seen them in the "flesh"
Thanks guys. Names added to the list, more info would be nice.
Aren't Martegani and Cortina made by the same folks? I think they do work for a variety of labels. This is a tough task indeed. And I bet such a list would change quite often.
Ron said that his boots (for Ron Rider Boot Co) are made by Calzaturificio Cortina. A quick google search shows a defunct website. A couple of links show that Calzaturificio Cortina seems to be owned by Corti Mario which has its website at http://www.courtley.it So I am not sure if Cortina and Martegani are made by the same people. Ron can provide more useful information. I just put what I have right now.
i would consider the italian shoe triumvirate to be: Silvano Lattanzi SANTONI (LE) Kiton
Nice to know, I don't even know that Santoni LE is that good.

this is partially true. i believe santoni also makes for borrelli (a higher line than the sutor ones. to the standard of fam)

and brioni is mostly made by another italian shoe company, i forgot which. only a few are made by lattanzi.

    http://www.zegna.com/media/press/AUT...SE_ING_DEF.pdf Useful? You're asking too much -)
But you provided even more than too much :) "‘Limited Edition Shoes’ in high shine burgundy alligator skin, are the apex of artisan leather craftsmanship. Each pair is hand buffed, hand crafted, hand milled and hand polished to create an individually shaded colour effect. A maximum of 4 pairs are crafted each day, with a Goodyear Construction sole which combines exceptional flexibility and high performance characteristics. Each pair of ‘Limited Edition Shoes’ is presented in a covetable leather shoe box, with cherry wood shoe horns, leather care kit and shoe buffer."

    Very nice effort.

I could add some brands I own, more easily found in Europe or on Yoox, maybe not worth adding

    Fratelli Rossetti
Bally (blake stiched or glued Italian ones / goodyear Swiss made)
Tods (I'm wearing today a nice pair of brown suede chukkas)
    Hogan (Tods group, expensive sneakers)
Pantofola d'Oro (very solid casual, football/soccer influenced)
    Santoni Club (casual)
    Doucals, Cesare Paciotti (fashion oriented)
    Moreschi
    etc.

I know nothing about that make, and would love to hear people's opinions. Am interested in fit detalls and construction details.

What do you know about them?
