A change of outer coat

Does anyone else carry an extra outer coat with them in the car? I prefer to wear my Bill Blass wool overcoat for business but sometimes when I am traveling for work and want to stop in a diner, Waffle House type place or casual bar and grill in the evenings I think the overcoat doesn't really fit the atmosphere of my surrounding and sometimes happens to hang off the back of the stool and gets dirty. I usually change into a graphite color Columbia gore-tex parka for these situations as I think its dark enough for my suits and sportier looking. On occasion when walking into one of these local spots with an overcoat on I can actually feel the people react in a way that makes it difficult for me to socialize with them.

Well it still looks new after buying it last October and is a classic style but maybe just a little too formal for casual non-business oriented places. I don't want people to feel as if some guy from the bank has just arrived to spy on them.
