I recently threw out a pile of my old low-rise Acne jeans that did me proud in my 20s and early 30s, but am now in need of some more flattering higher-rise replacements.
I've tried Blackhorse Lane, Rubato, Bryceland's, Anglo-Italian, and various others, and i tend to they billow around my (admittedly-slim) thighs, despite fitting well (or even being snug) in the waist, making a bowed rather than straight vertical line to the front silhouette that is particularly unflattering.
Measuring the thighs flat, they don't seem much wider than other tailored trousers, so i presume it must be the rigidity and absence of drape of the denim?
I'm not happy with this look ; I want to avoid a 'too-slim' silhouette, as i had with my Acnes, but i don't want this billowy silhouette either... they just look 'too big' to me, despite fitting in the waist - so what should i do? Take them in a couple of cm above the knee? Or they might mould to my shape in time? Doubt it, but either way, would appreciate members' thoughts.
Go bespoke..? No...!
