In fact, not that big a fan of the Beach Boys. When I first heard the Beatles, I thought the Beach Boys had just been left in the dust. And, even early on, the Beatles were using all sorts of things in their music that rock had not really seen. Such as, key changes (If I Fell). So, I would not place Pet Sounds so high. Definitely not above Highway 61. Not even above London Calling. Not, for that matter above any of the other top 12. Especially Kind of Blue. I guess it's as low as it is because it's really a jazz album. As for the Beatles, I like all those in the top, but I'd put Revolver and Rubber Soul above Pepper. That's my 2 cents. I would really love to hear your opinions.
