I was wondering if 5 sleeve buttons would be ok. I had a suit from cuffthis that had working button holes and the only way to lengthen the sleeves and have it look ok was to add a 5th working button hole. Good idea/bad idea?

Gucci makes suits with 6 buttons. Saw a lot of that in 2003. Stands out like a red paint job on a Ferrari.

Paul Smith suits have 5 buttons, for whatever that's worth.

I like 5 buttons if they are kissing or overlapping (like on a Paul Smith suit) - if there is space between them it might look a little odd.

John Kerry wears suits with 5 buttons on the sleeve, paired with shirts that have two buttons on the cuff.
