Just a sign of the bad economic times.

way way too many restaurants of average quality. People think just because they can cook, or that somebody in their family tell them that they make delicious mac n' cheese that those are ringing endorsements

The guy's restaurant was already in trouble, in 2007.

that's a real tragedy. and it just reinforces my opinion that the only people who go on shows like that are troubled to begin with.

That's terrible. I feel bad for what he is putting his wife and kids through right now.

That said, some of the NY Post comments are RIDICULOUS. I thought the NYT comments were bad...this is another level of fail; which I guess is no surprise considering it's the Post.

That's what I was thinking too but the rest of the Post article made it sound like his restaurant had turned around and that the tables were being filled.

Tragic that those three kids don't have a father now because of this.

You should get a reality show. With all of these ridiculous food bloggers around, you could field a group and bash them left and right. I think you might need a new accent, something sexy, but I'd watch.

He'll have a hard time finding a food blogger in LA.

I remember that episode very well: the chef who killed himself was a stubborn+clueless bastard. Ramsey gave him a good dose of reality and some shock therapy. Too bad he offed himself...

Apparently he is the second chef to appear on Hell's Kitchen then later off himself.

Edit: NYpost. http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/n...#ixzz10ooNxr8I

Article says he was on "Kitchen Nightmares", not "Hell's Kitchen". Kitchen Nightmares is about restaurants already in trouble, so I'm not sure it has anything to do with Ramsay, so much as this guy probably viewed his life/work as full of problems.

Selfish act by him. This doesn't help the kids.
