Wow, Pitt and STL bottom of the 18th and David Freese has gone 0-8. I know they call going 0-5 the platimum Sombrero, I wonder what they call 0-8.

Isn't it though. Of ALL the things he could have done to try and absolve himself, this is what he chose?

I'd ban him from baseball for 2 years for pulling that shit, how low (and stupid) can he and his agents go?

Yeah, what was funny is how some people at first were applauding him for "taking responsibility" and "fessing up" unlike most of the others.

I doubt the collective bargaining agreement allows extra punishment for something like this, though I don't know for certain. I can tell you that this wouldn't fly in Roger Goodell's NFL!

I heard his fastball is topping out at 93MPH. Is that true?

The Royals did us (the Detroit Tigers) a favor by sweeping the White Sox and, still, we could not advance. Saturday, excellent pitching but poor hitting. Sunday, terrible pitching and good hitting.

Beckett needs out of Boston IMO. I think he's still serviceable but he needs a change of scenery.

it rarely gets to 93... its more on the 91mph side... hence his suckatude. its irritating to see how he'll still try to pitch like a power pitcher...

not true. he's was a fastball/curve power pitcher. Unless he learns how to throw a good cutter and change-up Beckett is pretty much done....

its good that lester/bucholz is actually seeing beckett's demise first hand though... because those two actually have decent offspeed/cutters.

thats why Dice-K was such a fucking enigma. He actually had a great 97mph fastball that he refused to use. Now after tommy john he's joining beckett in the suckage club.

I think the best thing about the Boston "situation" is that Peter Gammons has to shut his big mouth. I used to like him until he came down on Melvin Mora for throwing a "sucker punch" during a bean ball riot between the O's and Sox. I happen to run in to Tim Kurkjain at Montgomery Mall a couple of weeks ago.

All these jokers. Do the teams know their guy is in the appeals process before the suspensions are handed down? Have the A's and Giants known they were going to lose these guys for months now?

What do you guys think of Clemens making a little "comeback?" Stunt? Attention whore?

I can't help but wonder if his goal is to make an MLB appearance of any sort to push his HOF vote back another 5 years, hoping that the steroids storm clouds will have dissipated somewhat.
