There was no better celebration than that of the 2003 Detriot Tigers when they narrowly avoided losing 120 games with a walk off by (I believe it was the now lost) Nook Logan. The O's knew what they were playing for, not only to keep Boston out of the playoffs, but to get revenge for being disrespected earlier in the season. There was an incident between Kevin Gregg and David Ortiz where Gregg tried to pitch inside and Ortiz decided to complain and threatend to charge the mound. Well, Kevin Gregg hasn't done much right in Baltimore this year, but he defended the O's honor that night.

whoa whoa. take it easy. one game at a time. i am sort of glad we are away when leyland set the rotation with fister starting game 2. mad max's era on the road is horrendous. i'll consider Game 1 pitching a wash. the key will be Mr. Fister.

Hmmm. A Phillies branded pack of batteries? A Phillies branded cheesesteak? A Phillies branded Liberty Bell? A Phillies branded dildo?

Clearly, this is a segment of the market that has yet to be tapped.

Anybody interested in embarking on an exciting new business venture?

Evan's face(s) during the win were priceless..... should be on the definition of Joy-Gasm.

I think the Brewers make it kind of far this year. Give their ownership something to think about before Fielder leaves.

Looks like Francona might be out.

i'm so excited for tonight. JV vs. CC. Verlander's last start was not good at all so hopefully that doesn't continue.

IMO, this will be the best series of the 4. I think it's the most evenly matched. Obvi, NY has the more potent offense, but I don't think Detroit is far behind. The addition of Delmon has been a huge success and Victor has been a monster all year. I still think the key to it all is Fister. Down the stretch he has been better than Verlander. 7-0 with a 0.90something ERA in his last 7 starts. As much as people in Detroit rag on management when things are bad, no one did a better job at the deadline than Dombrowski. Betemit, Fister, and Young have all contributed since the Tigers obtained than and a big reason why they ran away with the Central.
