1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

A sad day to be a Michigan Wolverine.

Dammit! The Tigers have got to win this one tonight.

Since there is no Game 7 tonight, Fox is showing "The X Factor." The Tigers, meanwhile, are the ex factor. No joy in Mudville, today.

    Congrats to the Rangers.

By 2014 the "Big Three" will have become the "Big Four" with the addition of Texas.

    Also, I really want a Brewers/Rangers WS.

I think Texas has made itself an outcast with its stupid new network and it will be slow to join one of the other conferences initially. It'll hold onto the Big 12 like the band on the Titanic.

    Go Rangers!

Brewers should pitch Axford in the first inning of every game. Sort of like a Bizarro closer.

This is embarrassing for the Brewers. Two games in a row they have put in an absolutely piss poor defensive performances.

That's a tough way to end a really memorable season. :(

I'll be a good St. Louisan and cheer for the Cardinals in the WS.

It's tricky to do a 180 like that, especially when the Brewers and Cardinals have been fairly bitter rivals this year!

Also, I'm not sure you want me cheering for the Cardinals; my cheering certainly was not very effective in the NLCS.

You are from Wisconsin, so it's understandable for you to cheer for your team. I currently live in KC, and I rarely watch the Royals and the Chiefs.

Tangentially related: when I was very young and my mom was explaining the concept of heaven, the picture I imagined in my head was Royals Stadium! I know it looks different now, but I'd still like to see a game there.

I see it whenever I drive back to St. Louis very time from the highway. Nothing too special.

Indeed. Bad weekend to be a Tiger, Wolverine, or Lion fan. My wife was happy that X Factor was on last night though. lol

I try to look at the bright side of the Tigers' season coming to an end: That was probably the last time we'll see Brad Penny in a Tiger uniform.

^^ this offseason should be nice. $25 million comes off the books thanks to Maggs, Guillen, and Penny. BUT JV gets a raise, but after all that we should have $15-18 million to spend if Illitch keeps the payroll the same, but he was on record this weekend saying he will do all it takes even if that means raising the payroll. I assume the starting pitching is set. JV, Fister ($500K bargain!!), Porcello, Max, and maybe Turner?

We need to take care of Valverde. so the needs this offseason are closer, 3rd, and 2nd. secondary to that, backup catcher. no way can avila can do what he did the year.

oh and i went 1-3 this weekend. thanks to Denard.

Last Wednesday, there was a chant by the guys sitting behind me in Comerica Park: "No Penny! No Perry!"
