Not that I mind seeing Utd suffer, but LVG has defnitely lost the plot. Mind you I feel like strangling Wenger pretty often. COYG!

I normally find long, drawn-out transfer sagas incredibly tedious but the De Gea move has become quite entertaining.

If it turns out to be true that Real didn't actually submit an offer until around noon on transfer deadline day, this is some solid comeuppance. And if Man U dicked around while really hoping the transfer would go through, this is also an awesome result.

I watch the show and really enjoy it. When the guys are "on", and they usually are, the hilarious sarcasm rises to a level of comedic genius that is thoroughly enjoyable. My only complaint is that their rapid fire commentary is sometimes difficult to follow. I just wish the show were longer - I haven't bothered with the podcasts but am rethinking that...

Roma contribute to Juve's worst start in over a hundred years! :slayer:

I wish they also did commentary on the other leagues rather than 99% EPL

Does United actually care though? Seems like it hurts Real more

I agree that it hurts RM more. United just seems to lose some cash. Real is the one without the goalkeeper they want.

Navas has 2 clean sheets in 2 games, stopping a PK last match. I'm more than pleased it didn't go through. Why on earth pay 29mil + lose Navas for De Gea when the man is on a bloody free next summer?

the chance that he could be the person who pushed you over the top isn't worth 29mil?

When he's $0 next year, no.

But maybe that's why I'm not a football exec.

Playing devils advocate - So you potentially sacrifice a season (goals over the course of a season add up) because you don't want to spend 29 mil?

Does your premise assume Navas can't do the job? Best keeper in La Liga the year before last, singlehandedly carried Costa Rica into the last-8(?) at WC2014.

And as Madrid's exec, I have to know that the roster as it stands alone will end in a CL spot. If they win the league, great, if not Barca is rolling and that's semi-expected. Further, you know Madrid will run deep into CL because of their personel.

Yes, I risk it. If we win, fabulous. If we don't, there's lots of reasons beside Navas in goal that we don't. Give the lad a shot.

Then, take 30mil next summer and put it towards wherever else crops up needing reinforcements next year.

Sounds like Ed Woodward did everything he could to fax Real the documents on time.
