A couple of months ago I was able to pick up a bunch of suits that had been custom-ordered from a Toronto menswear store, but had never been picked up. This Zegna Su Misura 2-piece is one of that bunch. Because the suit has been tailored for another person, I'm going to call it "pre-owned". However, it is in excellent condition, and I'm nearly certain that it's not been worn.
This is from Zegna's Swiss production, and it's clearly dated to the last quarter of 2014. The piece is modern in all respects, with side vents, a high gorge, peak lapels, a two-button closure, flat-front pants, and an uncuffed leg opening. The jacket is fully canvassed, and the trousers have an after-dinner split. The base colour is a medium gray with a darker gray windowpane.
The fit is Zegna's Torino cut. I'd describe it as Classic; certainly not slim.
All of the interior tags have been clipped to prevent return. I have blacked out the name of the person for whom the suit was made. You can see the interior tag with the embroidered Su Misura patch.
Please pay attention to the measurements, as this piece is custom:
The jacket is tagged a 44R, but I find that it measures as a 44 Short. Lying flat, it's approximately 23" in the chest, 18.75" between the shoulder-seams, 21.5" at the waist (top button), 25.75" from each shoulder-seam to each cuff, and 28.5" from the bottom of the collar to the hem. The sleeves likely can't be lengthened more than 0.25".
The tag on the pants says 42R drop 8, but they measure like a 44R drop 8. Lying flat, they're approximately 18" in the waist (36" waist), 39" on the outseam, 29" on the inseam, 7.4" at the leg opening. There is a good 2.5" of fabric to add to the hem.
